A life
in sound
A defining voice of the Riviera Romagnola. Iano Betti has spent a lifetime turning musical research into places, encounters and new ways of listening.
From rock and blues to funk, free jazz, disco and soul, his selections brought rare international sounds to the Italian dance floor with an instinct always ahead of its time.
As a DJ and artistic director, he treats music as the design of an environment: a precise balance of rhythm, melody and atmosphere.
Late 1970s
New York · Miramare
As resident DJ at the New York club, Betti selects imported vinyl and blends funk, free jazz, beat and soul, helping shape one of the Riviera’s most distinctive dance floors.
1980 — 1986
Aleph · Gabicce Mare
The Aleph becomes a radical cultural laboratory. Its minimalist identity and Betti’s selections introduce new wave, dark wave, post-punk and new romantic sounds to a new Italian audience.
1990s — today
Keplero & new explorations
Through the Keplero Musical Association and an ongoing programme of DJ sets and cultural projects, experimentation remains the core of his work.
